“One of the things that CrossFit has taught me is that is never too late to start your journey to being Fit and Healthy. I began practicing CrossFit after turning 40 ! It has allowed me to be in the best shape of my life, but most importantly it has also confirmed the fact that with hard work, anyone can achieve their goals and be healthier.

But perhaps the biggest discovery of all is the Urban Edge Community, being able to share the journey with such a diverse group of people and feel their constant support has helped me maintain the motivation and achieved results beyond what I could have ever imagined at the beginning.

Becoming a Coach and Owner of a CrossFit Affiliated Box has been a lifelong dream. I want to be able to "pay it forward" what CrossFit has given me over the years. I have been blessed to help others in their journey regardless of where they start to become healthier, more confident and the best version of themselves.”

I came across CrossFit during my last year in university whilst overweight and stressed out from all the assessments and exams. Through CrossFit I lost significant amount of fat and improved my physique as well as gaining mental toughness that allowed me to face both physical and mental obstacles with confidence and enthusiasm. As a chiropractor, the ideals are very much in line with how I live my life and what I teach to each and every one of my patients on a daily basis. Since moving to Singapore three years ago, I have noticed the growing popularity of CrossFit in Singapore but a distinctive lack of boxes here in central business district. Therefore, I hope to use my six years of CrossFit experience, as well as my profound knowledge in human movement/anatomy to help more Singaporeans gain exposure to CrossFit and transform their lives.”

I’m Sean, your new weightlifting coach 👋🏾
If you do know me, you’ve probably seen me coach a few classes or just hanging in the background training

A little bit about myself: I have been doing CrossFit for about 7 years, last 3-4 years more competitively. My focus on weightlifting is mainly to elevate my game and become more competitive numbers’ wise.

Whatever your reason is to want to focus on WL - whether it’s because you are a virtuoso and can’t stand not nailing or at least knowing the right technique, or whether it’s because you’re like me, sick of hoping the next workout won’t have heavy snatches to expose the chink in your otherwise RX repertoire - any reason is a good reason to turn one day into day one.

If you’ve seen me coach, you’ve probably seen the level of detail I go into in the classes, because as a competitor I believe that everybody - not only competitors - can optimize and become a better athlete through every advantage, whether if it’s breathing tempo, damper setting, leg spacing, thumb placement in different exercises etc

Lastly, if you’re hesitating because you think that this might be too advanced for you - well that’s my job to tailor the program, and don’t worry I know how to take an absolute rookie to a decent level because that’s what I was myself a few years back when I began this journey. All I need from you is your commitment, leave the rest to the program

With a background in coaching functional fitness, strength and HIIT style group classes, I wanted to try something new and started CrossFit last year. While the initial learning curve was steep, the Urban Edge community was encouraging and beginner friendly , inspiring me to do better with each workout. The thing that I’ve grown to enjoy about CrossFit is it’s variety and how no matter how experienced you may be, there will always be something that needs work and improving upon. It makes you feel like there are endless opportunities to learn - which keeps things interesting and makes me motivated to do better and pickup new skills
